Congratulations to A Road Less Traveled!
From CCM Magazine Online:
A Road Less Traveled Named Best Independent Band of 2007 In CCM Magazine's Readers' Choice Awards
(February 2008)
Battle of the Bands winner, A Road Less Traveled was recently named "Best Independent Band of 2007" by the reader's of CCM Magazine. Over 40,000 voters choose the Indie Rock Band in the magazine's annual Reader's Choice Awards. "Best Independent Band of 2007" was awarded to ARLT on the heels of the group winning a $10,000 cash award during a worldwide music video competition entitled Famecast. ARLT accredits their recent successes and attention-demanding buzz to the unwavering support of their widespread fan base, referred to by ARLT as "Roadies."
A Road Less Traveled has noted appearances along-side numerous major acts such as Kutless, Force 5, Pillar, Tait, Seventh Day Slumber, Superchick, Building 429 and BarlowGirl and Jeremy Camp. Whether it is a major festival, local bowling alley or church these five bring the same energy and always leave people feeling blessed and entertained.
"We just really want to present a message of hope to anyone who will give us an honest listen," says Shawn Anglin, electric guitarist for the band. "We play for a generation that is just tired and discouraged, and they need to know that through God they have purpose and something positive to contribute to our world".
In April of 2007 these five garnered national attention with the release of their debut album, Rescue. The freshman project contains 12 hard-hitting songs that will leave you humming the melody to tunes like the lyrically inquisitive and hope-infusing "Maybe."
Two tracks off of the album achieved national airplay without the funding of a record label. "Save Me" sat on the top 30 chart for two weeks at ChristianRock.net.
The November 2006 issue of CCM Magazine noted, "A steady diet of touring, from churches to festivals to camps and bowling alleys, has solidified these five into one of the best independent outfits on present rock scene."

Digital Distribution Update
One of the new and exciting things happening at CLG has been the development of our digital distribution capabilities. We now offer digital distribution through all the major sites and have partnered with a company that markets product to these sites. All marketing costs are factored into the percentages taken from proceeds, so there are no up-front, out-of-pocket expenses. The focus is to secure prominent placement on various download sites if at all possible. Contrary to popular belief, these types of opportunities are not only available to major label artists. As with all aspects of distribution, though, success will springboard off the efforts being made by an artist or label. It's a competitive business, but our partners are securing excellent placement on behalf of clients. Approximately a week ago, they secured TWO out of the TOP TEN Editor's Picks on a major site for a small Gospel Rap label located in Portland, Oregon. Online, placement is king. The increase in business can be substantial, indeed.
In related digital news, we are now provide digital downloads and CD/DVD burns for our distributed product in a multitude of Christian retail stores around the country. Currently, there are at least 650 stores on board. Through the use of advanced technology, each burn or download is counted and paid for on a monthly basis without the need for physical product to be supplied on our end. Due to the advanced technology, it's impossible for anyone to circumvent the security measures in place.
